Important Information Related to PST’s New Written Exam Beginning March 1, 2025.  Our agency will transition to PST's new written exam scores on March 1, 2025. As of March 1, 2025, we will only consider candidates who have taken the new written exam administered after March 1, 2025. If you are scheduled to test before February 28, 2025, please reschedule your test to a date after March 1, 2025. Rescheduling fees have been waived. Patrol works a 12-hour shift with 3 days on 4 days off, 4 days on 3 days off.  Shifts have three officers/sergeants, with minimum 2 for staffing.  Specialty positions include School Resource Officer, SWAT, detectives and various instructor positions.

Vacancies are filled by Civil Service "rule of three" with the top three candidates forwarded to the appointing authority for background investigation & selection as vacancies occur.

Salary Information

$6,801.75 - $7,874.66

Benefit Information

6.2% matching deferred compensation, $250 Monthly HRA, 10-22 hours vacation and 8 hours sick per month, (2025).  2% for associate degree, 5% for bachelor's Degree.  Shift and holiday pay incentive.  $2,500 annual tuition reimbursement for select degree programs.  Patrol is on the FLSA 2080 hours per year schedule, which creates an additional 13 days per year to be used in additional to vacation and sick time.  8 hours sick time per month.  Vacation time 10 hours per month (0-5 years), 14 hours per month (6-10 years), 18 hours per month (11-15 years) and 22 hours per month (beginning of 16th year).
